Who Can Apply?
This program welcomes applications from all nationalities, including those from Pakistan.
Applicants should meet the listed criteria to be considered.
- A PhD must have been awarded on or after January 1, 2022.
- The PhD must be completed before the fellowship starts.
- Prior to submitting an application, applicants must have a KAUST faculty member agree to serve as their host.
- A strong academic record and clear research ability are needed.
- The research proposal has to be original, convincing, and fit with KAUST’s aims.
Fellowship Benefits
- Annual Stipend: USD 75,000 (tax-free)
- Research Budget:
- USD 20,000 – CEMSE (Computer, Electrical & Mathematical Sciences and Engineering)
- USD 30,000 – PSE (Physical Science & Engineering)
- USD 40,000 – BESE (Biological & Environmental Science and Engineering)
- Relocation Support: Up to USD 3,000
- Travel Allowance: Annual airfare for fellow and dependents
- Dependent Support: School/daycare funding for up to two children
- Medical Insurance: Comprehensive coverage
- Mentorship & Career Development: Personalized support, leadership training, and teaching opportunities
